The Food Club

The chefs of the Vesuvian Institute always offer fresh choise products.
The aim of the Food Club project is showing the good Mediterranean cuisine. Thanks to the cooking lessons offered by the chefs, the project aims to brush up the ancient and modern Mediterranean traditions.

The products come directly from the farmers and local oil producers, offering quality and  ensuring  exclusive food.
The tradition re-educates your palate to the pleasure of eating together and propouses  vegetable fats, instead of animal one.
The Mediterranean cuisine is rich in vegetables, legumes and fruits, as well as meat, especially red ones, and fish, propousing every kind of fish that our sea offers.

Some traditional products of our regions:
  • Castellammare's typical biscuits
  • Sweet tarallini (a kind of biscuit)
  • Mussels
  • Honey
  • Sweet Casatiello bread
  • Artichokes
  • Tomato salad
  • Castellammare's spring water

Castellammare's violet artichoke, also known as "artichoke of Schito". The name comes from an area of Castellammare considered, since Roman times, particularly suited to horticulture. This area, not far from Pompeii, was identified with the name "Schito vegetable gardens”.
